Luckily, lice are a dependent parasite and they need to be on a host to live- so if by some slim chance a louse fell off their host, they would begin dying immediately and not be very mobile at all. Lice don’t have sticky feet that are good for climbing like other insects, they have six claws which make it easy for them to move quickly through the hair, but this also makes it hard for them to move around outside of that environment.
