Head Lice Pictures

One of the toughest thing about head lice (for non-professionals) is actually spotting it. Many people think that head lice along with their eggs are white when in fact lice and nits, the eggs, range from beige to dark brown in color. Lice bugs are about the size of a sesame seed when fully grown, wingless, and have 6 legs. They move very quickly through the hair and hide from the light so as you can imagine, they’re super tough to spot if you’re doing at at home check on your child. The nits, or eggs, are beige to dark brown in color, tear drop shaped, and are glued onto the hair shaft close to the scalp. Always remember, head lice isn’t white!
