How hard is it to get rid of lice?

Being in the lice removal industry for over a decade at this point I’ve learned a few things! Head lice are extremely hard to eradicate for the layperson. Most clients have home treated 2-3 times prior to calling us for help, essentially throwing in the towel. So, why is lice so difficult to get rid of? I’ll start first by explaining that while us pros make it look easy, its actually very labor intensive, requires alot of training and education, and there is absolutely a valuable art and skill to treating lice effectively in one session like we do! That’s enough bragging though- in all honesty, parents dealing with lice just don’t have the education and know how.The products on the market aren’t the best or very effective (the combs in the kits at the drugstore are terrible)! Quite honestly, parents and caregivers simply don’t have the time it takes to home treat nor do they realize what the process entails. When home treating lice, it requires 10-14 days of consistent combing through the air section by section. I always tell my DIY clients to comb until they’re getting NO debris out of the hair then to do two more sessions after that to be SURE. Really, who has the time?
