Why is head lice common in children?
Its no surprise that head lice is more common in children, after all, they have zero regard for personal space, am I right? That being said, because children play closely, attend school and activities together, and have sleepovers with their besties, lice does spread easily in a younger age group. Anywhere that children are congregating, lice is potentially spreading. Here at Lice Care Associates Danvers we do treat adults as well- but in almost all adult cases it is directly related to a child in their life who was positive for lice.Parents and caregivers are frequently infested with lice from their children. In my ten years of experience I’ve found that the moms of young kids have lice almost all the time when they have a positive child. Dads have lice about half the time. Other adults who are more likely to catch lice are teachers of young children, nannies, and any other caregivers who is with a child. We treat a lot of grandmas!
