Superlice is a term that describes lice that are resistant to pesticide based treatments. It sounds a lot scarier than it is- after all, isn’t it just as yucky to douse your family’s head in permethrin or Malathion? Head lice are a hardy species- not much can kill them (hair dye, Cetaphil, + olive oil aren’t effective against them, the list goes on). Scientific studies abound on how ineffective pesticide based treatments are against lice present day due to overuse. While super lice sounds scary, its not when you are educated in what products help and what ones simply do not.
